This extension has been reviewed by the Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and works in accordance with their policies. Therefore, it does not bypass any technical protection methods for any site or content. Nor does it provide any special process or behavior for any particular site or content. Specifically, it provides the ability to capture data and save it as a video file, within the scope of web standards technology, for contents displayed in the browser. No downloading of any kind is performed. This extension does not transmit or store any personal information. The operation is completely internal to the browser and does not transmit any data to the server. The entire process is completely internal within the browser and does not transmit any data to the server.
(important) About the video format to be saved
This extension can save the results in either MP4 or WebM format depending on the codec (h264, vp9, av1, etc.) of the captured data. However, due to the convenience of storing audio and video in a single container, in some cases the VP8/VP9/Opus codecs are stored in the MP4 container. Since this is a relatively new specification (drafted in 2015), there are some video players that do not support it. We recommend using the video players listed below, but if you don't want to use them, then prefer to save the video in WebM. There is no upper limit to the file size for MP4, but WebM has an upper limit of 4 GBytes. Also, WebM tends to take longer to output than MP4.
Currently, the following video players support the above formats.
You can capture the currently displayed tab. The quality of the captured video can be specified in the menu at the bottom of the screen, but the frame rate cannot be specified. Capturing is performed at the optimal frame rate for your PC environment. It is also possible to start capturing after 5 seconds, so you can capture tabs in full screen mode. If the screen size of a tab changes during capture, it will continue to be recorded, but the output video will have multiple resolutions. Capture may not start until the tab screen changes.

Capture Video Elements
You can capture the Video element displayed on a tab. The Video element is one of the elements that composes HTML, and is used to play video and audio. The quality of the captured videos can be specified in the menu at the bottom of the screen, but the frame rate is fixed at 30 frames per second (fps). However, on a typical PC, video with a resolution higher than 1920x1080 may have dropped frames during capture. Any action such as pausing or changing the playback speed will affect the capture. Capture will not start for videos with muted audio.

Capture MediaSource of the Video element
You can capture the source (MediaSource) of the video displayed on the Video element. You cannot specify the quality of the video, but this method is the least CPU-intensive way to capture the video. Even if the source video is paused or the playback speed is changed, it will still be captured properly. Capture must begin within 60 seconds after the video is displayed.
Changing capture speed
Changing the playback speed of the source video allows for speedy capture. However, especially for high-resolution video, increasing the playback speed may result in dropped frames, depending on your CPU and network. If you are concerned about your PC performance or environment, you can set the playback speed to 0.5 to ensure safe capture. Please be sure to capture at an appropriate speed, taking into consideration the load on the server.
Join videos of the same resolution
Stack
Generally, when the resolution or chapters are changed, the video is handled as a different video. This option allows the video to be merged into an existing sequence only if it is of the same resolution and codec.
Combine videos of different resolutions
MultiRes
The resolution may change dynamically, even for the same video. This option allows a video with different resolutions to be processed as a single MP4, provided that the NAL unit contains both SPS and PPS. Note that some video players do not support the output video format
Clear MediaSource buffer
video/mp4;codecs=xxxx
You can clear the buffer of a specific media source held by the video player. For example, if video data with an unintended resolution is loaded first and the desired resolution is not being fetched, you can forcibly clear the buffer to refresh the data. In many cases, after clearing the buffer, you'll need to seek to an unbuffered part using the seek bar to trigger loading again. As for the buffering status of audio and video, if any part of the content is missing, indicators will appear beneath the loading progress bar to serve as a visual reference.

Capture MediaSource within a service worker
Some video sites process videos in a special environment called a Service Worker. Since capturing within Service Workers is disabled by default, video labels will not appear on the screen. By clicking the MS+ button, the page will automatically reload and capturing within the Service Worker will begin.

Capture Canvas Elements
You can capture the Canvas element displayed on a tab. The Canvas element is one of the elements that compose HTML and is used to display images dynamically. In this mode, the audio playing on the tab is also captured simultaneously. The frame rate is fixed at 30 fps, although the quality of the captured image can be specified in the menu at the bottom of the screen. In many cases, Canvas tags are only rendered when they are visible, so the tab must always be active.

Capture more (extra)
You can capture the entire browser or individual windows. No audio is captured for the window. Note that the captured resolution is (in most cases) different from the browser resolution.
In general, consider using the functions provided by the OS for these captures. Windows : ⊞ Win + G macOS : shift + ⌘ command + 5

The cache of media sources has expired. For video sources, many of them cannot be captured from the middle of the video. Therefore, data is cached in the browser for a short period of time after the video starts playing. When the data exceeds 60 seconds or 200 MBytes, the cached data is discarded.
